Overview
Brightening peptide/Tetrapeptide-30 is an oligopeptide composed of four amino acids. Its skin lightening mechanism is fast and effective. It can brighten the skin by reducing the amount of tyrosinase and inhibiting the activation of melanocytes.
Uses
Brightening peptides can be used in various whitening and anti-freckle skin care products.
Mechanism of action
Tetrapeptide-30 inhibits the gene expression of tyrosinase and reduces the amount of tyrosinase; by reducing melanin stimulating hormone α-MSH and melanin stimulating hormone precursor POMC, it inhibits melanocyte activation and reduces melanin production; by acting on human keratinocytes, it can significantly reduce the mRNA expression of UVB-induced interleukins IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α, and most importantly, it can reduce the expression of POMC gene, reduce post-inflammatory pigmentation and UVB-induced skin pigmentation.
